Question 1 of 5How often do you brush your teeth?

Guidance only, not a diagnosis. Only a dentist can check your teeth properly.

A simple routine, morning and night

Most tooth trouble starts small and slowly. Two short routines a day keep most of it away. Flip the card to see each one.

सुबह और रात — दो मिनट, दो बार।

Morning

  1. Brush for two minutes. A pea-sized bit of fluoride toothpaste, small circles, every side of every tooth.
  2. Brush your tongue too. It holds the germs that cause bad breath.
  3. Spit, don't rinse hard. Leaving a little toothpaste on the teeth helps protect them.
  4. Water after tea. A quick swish after morning chai keeps stains and sugar off.

Night

  1. Clean between your teeth. Floss or a small between-teeth brush reaches where the toothbrush can't.
  2. Brush for two minutes. Night brushing matters most: your mouth makes less saliva while you sleep.
  3. Nothing sweet after. Only water once your teeth are clean.
  4. Notice your gums. Bleeding when you brush is worth showing to a dentist.

Check-up and cleaning

The dentist looks at every tooth and your gums, then removes tartar: the hard yellow layer that brushing can't shift. Good to do every six months.

Filling a hole in a tooth

A small hole (a cavity) is cleaned out and closed with tooth-coloured material, usually in one visit.

A young man holding his jaw because of a toothache

Root canal

For a tooth that aches deep inside. The infected soft centre is cleaned out and sealed, so you keep the tooth instead of losing it.

A patient in the dental chair wearing protective glasses during treatment

Taking out a tooth

When a tooth is too broken or loose to save, including stuck wisdom teeth. The area is numbed first.

Braces

Small brackets and a wire slowly move crooked or gapped teeth into line over many months.

A set of artificial teeth on a shelf

Replacing missing teeth

Artificial teeth: a denture you can take out, or an implant, a small post fixed in the jaw that holds a new tooth.

Whitening and polishing

Polishing removes surface stains from tea, paan or tobacco. Whitening lightens the colour of the teeth a few shades. Your dentist will tell you what to expect for your teeth.

Questions people ask

Is the smile check a diagnosis?

No. It's a quick look at your habits that tells you whether a check-up is a good idea. Only a dentist, looking at your teeth, can tell you what's going on.

How often should I see a dentist?

Most people do well with a check-up and cleaning every six months. Go sooner if a tooth hurts, your gums bleed often, or something feels broken or loose.

My gums bleed when I brush. Should I stop brushing there?

No, keep brushing gently. Bleeding usually means the gums are irritated by plaque, the soft sticky layer on teeth. A cleaning and better brushing often fix it. If it keeps happening, show it to the dentist.

Do I need an appointment?

Call 93006 19220 to check the timing before you come. You can also send a request with the form above.

How much does treatment cost?

It depends on what your teeth need, so the clinic will tell you after the check-up. Ask on the phone if you want an idea first.
